Excited to share that I recently had a book review published with the Voice and Speech Review, an international journal for the dialect and voice industry. I reviewed Jeff Siegel’s 2010 book “Second Dialect Acquisition”, which is a seminal work in the sociolinguistic and SDA fields.
This is an informative and comprehensive book, and brings together an array of different studies in a field that at the time (and remains) surprisingly under-researched (though I’m glad to say that since 2010, the field has been expanding, with the particular influence of the work of Jennifer Nycz).
